** FULL-TIME *SEASONAL* CUSTODIAN **
The Town of Wellesley has made a major investment in the maintenance and operation of its school and town buildings through its new Facilities Maintenance Department (FMD). The FMD manages twenty buildings totaling over a million square feet, with a staff of 63 and an operating budget of over $6 million, plus a major capital projects budget. This new department has created job opportunities for several full-time positions. Due to long-term absences, FMD has an immediate need for a full-time, seasonal custodian to work the second shift. The assignment will typically cover the Hardy Elementary School. This seasonal assignment is expected to last until November or December 2017. A separate permanent opening is expected to become available when the seasonal assignment ends. Preference for this permanent position will be given to the candidate that successfully fills the seasonal assignment. Reporting to the Head Custodian, and under the general supervision of the Principal, Custodial Service Manager and Facilities Director, the seasonal custodian performs all aspects of custodial services and operations for the department. The work of the seasonal custodian includes but is not limited to: routine/detail/project cleaning of all aspects of the buildings, minor maintenance work, landscaping/grounds work, on-call services, building security, and emergency snow/ice response. The incumbent must be available for weekend, emergency and stand-by duties as required. The incumbent performs assigned tasks without close supervision, following established procedures, or with direct instructions on new and different assignments.
The hours for this seasonal position are second shift Monday through Friday. The hourly rate of pay is $19.52.
Requires a High School diploma or GED; three years of custodial or related experience; basic computer skills; and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

The Wellesley Free Library is seeking a technology-savvy, fearless, flexible, and fun full-time (35 hours/week) Reference Librarian to join our team in providing the highest quality library service. Under the supervision of the Reference Services Supervisor, duties will include providing technology education to patrons (including coding and instruction on the use of electronic media); reference and reader advisory services; materials selection; and developing/implementing library programs for high school students.

** PLANNER **
The Town of Wellesley Planning Department is advertising for qualified candidates for the position of Planner, an entry-level professional position in the Department. The hired candidate will work alongside the Planning Director and the Senior Planner to make recommendations on comprehensive planning, zoning analysis, site plan review, design review and related matters. Job duties include representing the Planning Board, Planning Director and/or the Town at interdepartmental meetings, meetings of Town boards, community groups, and regional and state agencies; coordinating and/or assisting in the administration of regulations pertaining to Design Review, Large House Review (LHR), Neighborhood Conservation Districts (NCD), Historic Districts, Subdivisions, and Special Permits; collecting, organizing, analyzing, and maintaining data for use in technical studies and reports related to Planning Department activities; and working on special projects that require research, community outreach, and facilitation skills. Additional duties include responding to public inquiries and advising developers, builders, realtors, citizens and property owners on items relating to zoning, subdivision, design review, sign control, historic district regulations, site plan review, LHR and NCD review, Planning Board rules and regulations, and the interpretation of Massachusetts General Laws relating to planning and zoning. Requires a Bachelors Degree in Planning or a related field or equivalent, one year experience in municipal planning or a related field or equivalent, working knowledge of all applicable laws pertaining to land use within a municipality and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. The ability to accurately read and interpret plans and maps, such as site plans, building floor plans, contour and landscape plans, and to manage time effectively while prioritizing workflow are a must. The anticipated hiring range is an annual salary between $54,000 and $66,000. We are seeking dependable individuals to assure the safety of school children crossing the streets as they go to and from school. Interested individuals need not be Wellesley residents. The morning shift is from 7:55 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. and the afternoon shift is generally from 3:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. On Wednesdays, the afternoon shift is from 12:05 p.m. to 12:35 p.m. Salary is $14.79/hour plus a $5.00 stipend for each shift.
