The Wellesley Board of Selectmen is looking for residents who are interested in serving on the Town’s Municipal Light Board (MLB) and filling a seat left vacant following the departure of long-time board member Katharine Gibson.
The five-person Municipal Light Board sets policies for and oversees the Wellesley Municipal Light Plant. Its volunteer members serve three-year terms and include the three elected Board of Public Works Commissioners and two members appointed by the Board of Selectmen.
Gibson was appointed to the MLB by the Selectmen in July 2012 and most recently served as board vice chair; her current term expires on June 30, 2019.
Candidates for the open position must be Wellesley residents. Applicants are asked to email a letter of interest detailing their qualifications and a resume, if available, to the Board of Selectmen at firstname.lastname@example.org or mail the information to the Selectmen's Office.
