Restaurants in Wellesley are open. The Town encourages all restaurants and their employees to follow CDC guidance for cleaning and hygiene protocols. Restaurant staff and diners are encouraged to wear masks whenever possible when indoors.
*Please note: Independent restaurants may ask customers and employees to follow certain requirements depending on risk and comfort levels.
Outdoor Dining in Wellesley
Wellesley businesses may temporarily expand and/or create outdoor dining opportunities. Restaurants interested in expanded dining options outdoors must follow this step-by-step guidance. These special permits are scheduled to end on June 15, but may be extended until November 29, 2021 pending legislation filed by the Governor.
Governor Baker and the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) also expedited the process for restaurants to expand areas for the sale of alcohol, and allows local governments licensing approval for restaurants to use adjacent and nearby public and private outdoor spaces.
