Wellesley Youth Commission Youth Employment Program

Wellesley Green Shirts is a program to support youth by hiring local youth for a variety of local jobs.  CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE WELLESLEY GREEN SHIRTS INTEREST SURVEY.

Eligibility:

  • Must be between 14-21;
  • Must attend Wellesley Public Schools and/or be a Wellesley resident;
  • Must complete the Wellesley Green Shirts Interest Survey
  • Must complete the New Hire Packet (youth will receive the packet upon completion of the above survey) and submit the following documents:
    • Town of Wellesley application
    • W-4 Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate
    • M-4 Massachusetts Employee’s Withholding Exemption Certificate
    • Emergency Contact Information
    • Statement Concerning Your Employment in a Job Not COvered by Social Security
    • I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.  The following list of documents are examples of documents to establish identity and Employment Authorization 
      •  Birth certificate
      • Driver’s license; or MA ID card, School ID card with a photograph. If you are under 18 and do not have any of these, you can substitute the following
      • School record or report card
      • Clinic, doctor or hospital record
      • Social Security card or SSA number printout
      • Passport

Note: If you have a passport you do not need a photo ID or birth certificate.

  • Direct Deposit Authorization
  • Voya
  • Read receipt for Town of Wellesley Policies and Procedures

Details:

  • Youth will receive minimum wage ($12.75 per hour)
  • Youth will register for available jobs on a weekly basis, allowing them the opportunity to experience a variety of jobs.

Wellesley Green Shirts is a first come first serve opportunity, a waitlist will be created if no open positions are available.
