The Climate Action Committee proposes sustainable energy goals, to reduce Town greenhouse gas emissions from the municipal, residential, commercial, industrial and institutional sectors.

Council on Aging
The Council on Aging is a resource for residents over the age of 60. Its mission is to empower individuals to reach their goals; to offer comprehensive programs, services, and assistance that optimize quality of life; and to enable meaningful connections and collaborations that inspire a spirit of community across the generations in our town.

Engineering
The Engineering Division provides the town with professional engineering, landscape architecture and technical services required to plan, coordinate, develop, design, construct, operate, and maintain town facilities and infrastructure.

Facilities Management
The Facilities Management Department (FMD) is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all Wellesley schools and municipal buildings. FMD also provides planning, design and construction oversight for major building projects and provides day-to-day support for the Permanent Building Committee.

The Finance Department performs the accounting (accounts payable, payroll, general ledger), auditing, budgeting and financial reporting functions for the Town of Wellesley.

Geographic Info. Systems (GIS)
The Geographic Information System (GIS), is an organized collection of computer hardware, software, geographic data, and personnel designed to efficiently capture, store, update, manipulate, analyze, and display all forms of geographically referenced information.

Health
Wellesley Health Department assesses and addresses the needs of the Wellesley community, through regulatory enforcement, communicable disease prevention and surveillance, public health nursing services, social work, and health promotion initiatives, in order to protect and improve the health and quality of life of its residents and work force.

Highways
The Highway Division is part of the Wellesley Public Works Department and is responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of all town roads and streets, street signs, sidewalks, and all surface and subsurface drainage systems to provide for safe vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Through comprehensive collections and innovative spaces, technologies and programs, the Library provides free and convenient access to information both within and beyond our walls.

Municipal Light Plant
The Wellesley Municipal Light Plant (WMLP) is a Town-owned entity established to provide low cost, safe and reliable electricity to Wellesley residents and businesses. Wellesley has electric rates that are among the lowest in Massachusetts while also providing highly reliable service. The WMLP issues utility bills for electricity, water and sewer each month.

Natural Resources (NRC)
The Natural Resources Commission (NRC) oversees the use, preservation and protection of the town's parks and conservation areas, serves as tree warden, sets policies for insect control and pesticide use, and protects the town watershed areas.

Park & Tree Maintenance
The Park and Tree Division is part of the Wellesley Public Works Department and is responsible for the care and upkeep of all of town parkland, conservation land and other open spaces.

Parking Clerk
The Parking Clerk administers and processes citations issued to motorists found to be in violation of Wellesley parking regulations.

Planning
The Planning Department provides staff support to a variety of town boards and commissions related to land use. Planning staff also assist residents and developers through permitting processes and engage in long-term planning including research of economic, demographic, and development trends.

Select Board Office
The Select Board Office supports the five-member Select Board, assists in implementing policies, regulations, economic development, and licensing, and manages town-wide communications.

Town Clerk
The Town Clerk is a primary provider of information and quality services to the community. The Clerk's Office works cooperatively and in coordination with the varied departments and groups while performing a myriad of tasks to achieve established goals and comply with state and local statutes.

The Trails Committee works to develop, promote and maintain the more than 46 miles of trails in Wellesley.

The office of Treasurer/Collector is responsible for the receipt, investment and disbursement of all Town of Wellesley funds.

The West Suburban Veterans' District (WSVD) works independently and in accordance with state laws and regulations, manages and participates in the administration of benefits available to eligible veterans and their dependents.

The Water and Sewer Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of town water and sanitary sewer systems, thereby providing for the health and well-being of the public.

Wetlands
Wellesley's wetlands are protected by the Wetlands Protection Committee which works to preserve town lakes, rivers, streams and other wetland areas under the guidelines of the Wetlands Protection bylaw, and reviews and permits any proposed work within these areas.

Youth Services
The Wellesley Youth Commission provides programs and services designed to ensure that Wellesley's youth feel they are a valued part of the Wellesley community.

Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)
The Zoning Board of Appeals is a quasi-judicial board which interprets and enforces the town Zoning Bylaw by hearing and deciding on petitions for appeals of town officer or board decisions, Chapter 40B comprehensive permits, site plan approvals, special permits and variances.
