The Planning Department and the Historic District Commission have engaged a consultant, Heritage Strategies, to develop new Historic Preservation Design Guidelines.
Design Guidelines provide predictability and guidance to the issues concerning additions, window repair, landscaping and new construction in historic districts. The new Guidelines will clarify expectations and serve as a design reference for property owners and residents.

A public hearing was opened scheduled for December 1, 2020 where the consultant gave a presentation about the document. The public hearing was continued to the Historic District Commission meeting on January 5, 2021.
