The Wellesley Police Department hosted its annual holiday party for the Wellesley Housing Authority (WHA) in late December.
Due to COVID-
19 concerns, the festivities took place at the Housing Authority and included a parade and a visit from Santa Claus, who arrived on a Wellesley Fire Department truck escorted by a long line of police cruisers.
Families had the chance to meet and greet Santa and take photos in a COVID safe manner. Pizza, hot chocolate, and gifts were delivered to everyone.
Wellesley Police Officer Travis Dixon coordinated the annual event with help from WHA Deputy Director Jacqueline Sullivan.
Officer Dixon also collected and wrapped the donated gifts.
Thank you to WPD personnel Sergeant Brian Spencer, Officer Kathy Poirier, Officer Tana DiCenso and Comfort Care Dog Winnie, Officer Mark Knapp, Officer Brian Collins (wearing a very unique red and white suit), Officer Mark DeBernardi, Officer Stephen Gaffney, and Sergeant Mike Lemenager who all made sure everyone enjoyed the party.
