How will Wellesley prepare for and handle the impacts of a changing climate and economy?
The Town recently held a series of workshops and hearings to start developing a plan for our community and our planet.
It’s part of a campaign called "Wellesley Will."
Ideas and action steps are outlined in the Final Summary of Findings for the Wellesley Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program (MVP).
Some important goals include:
- Resilience to intense storms, flooding, drought and heat
- Better and more equitable access to services
- More opportunities for civil engagement from residents
Through the MVP program, Wellesley is eligible for action grant funds from the Commonwealth.
Watch for additional updates and more opportunities for resident participation as "Wellesley Will" continues, and help shape the future of sustainability in our community.
Thank you to the many individuals who took part in this planning process so far, and to Kim Lundgren Associates (KLA) for their leadership.
