Sustainable Energy Committee Vacancy

The Sustainable Energy Committee (SEC) is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on its seven-member Board.

The new member will be appointed by the Board of Selectmen to complete a term ending on June 30, 2021. Read the SEC member job description here

Residents who would like to apply should send an email describing their background and qualifications to SEC chair, Laura Olton

The deadline for applications is Saturday, October 31, 2020.

Established in 2010, the SEC proposes sustainable energy goals to reduce the Town's greenhouse gas emissions and develops action plans to help achieve these goals. Successful initiatives include:

  • Massachusetts Green Community designation and grant awards
  • Solar energy recruitment
  • Energy efficiency campaigns
  • Metrowest Food Recovery program
  • Municipal Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station
  • And more

Currently the SEC is working to develop a town-wide Climate Action Plan, Sustainable Building Guidelines, a Transporation Working Group to address transporation-related emissions, and other projects.

Interested candidates for the open position should be strongly committed to the SEC's mission.
