At its February 25, 2020 meeting, School Committee:

• Continued its discussion relative to the redistricting maps and voted to approve two future elementary redistricting maps to correspond with a building project at either the Hardy or the Upham sites. Both votes were 3 in favor; 1 opposed; 1 abstention.
  
  
• Heard a presentation of the findings of the VOCAL survey.
  
  
• Heard a presentation of the findings of the MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey for the Middle and High Schools.
  
  
• Received the 2nd Quarter Financial Report.
  
  
• Discussed and Voted (4 in favor; 1 opposed) its position on the Referendum Question as follows:
  
  The School Committee supports a “No” vote on the question that has been placed on the March 17 ballot, given the considerable educational and financial implications of rebuilding all three of the Hardy, Hunnewell, and Upham schools, at a time when K-5 enrollment is down by nearly 400 students and is still declining.  
  
  As outlined in its HHU position statement, in place since 2017, the School Committee continues to support rebuilding two schools now to best support the educational program today, and a third school when required to support the program in the future, whether due to an increase in enrollment or limitation of meeting the educational needs. 
   
• Received a general update on HHU issues.
