Happy Holidays from the COA!

As we close out the year, the COA wishes everyone a wonderful Holiday Season filled with happiness and joy! We reopened our doors in July and were so excited to safely expand our in-person programming. We were happy to welcome returners and new faces to the Tolles Parsons Center, and we look forward to seeing you as we move into the New Year!

COVID-19 Booster Reminder

Is it time for a booster?

As we continue through the holiday season, we highly encourage Wellesley seniors to protect their health by getting their COVID-19 booster shot if they are eligible. Boosters are the best way to stay safe and prevent hospitalization from COVID-19. COVID-19 boosters are safe, effective, and free. Individuals do not need an ID or health insurance to access a booster, and they do not need to show a vaccine card.

Should I get the booster shot?

The FDA and CDC have determined that the COVID-19 booster shots are safe and will increase protection against COVID-19. With a continuing increase in COVID-19 cases, getting a booster is recommended to increase vaccine effectiveness.

Who is eligible?

Individuals 18+ who are fully vaccinated and received their last Pfizer or Moderna vaccine six months ago or longer; or
Individuals 18+ who are fully vaccinated and received their Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.

How can I schedule an appointment?

You can visit vaxfinder.mass.gov to book an appointment online or you can call the COVID-19 Vaccine Resource Line at 2-1-1. The line is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

What if I am Homebound?
For individuals who cannot reasonably leave their homes, please call 833-983-0485 to arrange for in-home COVID-19 vaccinations or a booster shot. Callers will immediately be assessed for in-home vaccination need, registered, and scheduled. Appointments can generally be made within two weeks from the scheduling call.
