Registration is in full swing and we are excited to offer some new and exciting programs to ring in 2022.

You can sign-up for January and February free programs by: (1) completing our form here; (2) emailing us here; (3) by calling us at (781) 235-3961; or (4) by stopping by in-person. For paid programming, you can register by calling us at (781) 235-3961 or by stopping by.

Please note, all Zoom links will be sent out the business day before the program, by 4:00 PM. If you want to sign-up for a program happening the same day, the best way to register is to call us at 781-235-3961. All programs listed in this section have spaces available. If the space is limited, the number of remaining spots are listed.

All activities/programs listed below are held on Zoom unless "In Person" is specifically stated.

This section will highlight programs that have plenty of room for more participants or that are currently low in attendance. All programs are listed with a start time and will go for an hour, unless listed otherwise. The highlights section is not a comprehensive listing of all of our programs, for full programming selections and more details, please check out our newsletter here. Drop-In Options

Programming on Public Access Cable

Catch our weekly programming on Comcast 9 and Verizon 39 for a special program only available on your TV. Weekly programming is scheduled to air on: Mondays 2:00 PM, Tuesdays 9:00 AM, Thursdays 10:00 AM, Fridays 12:30 PM, and Saturdays 8:00 PM. Please note that times are subject to change without notice. Local cable TV channels are courtesy of Wellesley Media. All programs can be watched online here on demand.

Lunch at the COA

We are happy to announce that non-residents are welcome to onsite lunches at the COA! We have also increased our maximum number to 20 participants on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Lunch at the COA is offered four times a week thanks to the financial support of the Friends of the Wellesley Council on Aging (FWCOA). Lunches will be served in-person by volunteers in the multipurpose room on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 12:00 p.m. On Wednesdays, you are welcome to eat your lunch onsite at 12:00 p.m. in our café, but if you are homebound you can opt for a home delivery on Wednesdays! Please note that unless you are homebound, you are agreeing to have a social onsite lunch when you order your meal.

Please remember that all lunches must be ordered and paid for at least two business days in advance of the meal. Lunches on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be served by COA Volunteers, lunch on Wednesdays if delivered to the café will be provided but will not be staffed by volunteers.

For Wellesley residents, when you call to order your meal, you will be asked if you would like to have your cost subsidized by the FWCOA, making the cost $5, or if you would like to pay the full cost at $10. For non-residents, the cost of lunch is $11. If you have any financial concerns or questions about your eligibility for delivery, please contact Kate Burnham for assistance. All financial information and the amount paid by individuals is kept confidential.

Movies are now open to non-residents and are shown once a week on Fridays at 1:15 PM. Max of 30 people per movie.

Registration is on-going and the most common programs patrons sign up for on registration day are fitness classes and groups. Interested in attending? To participate, there are a few ways to sign-up: (1) You can email us here for any free program(s); (2) You can complete the attached form for any/all free programs that you would like to register for here; or (3) you can call us at (781) 235-3961. For paid programs, please call us at (781) 235-3961 or stop in. My Active Center is deactivated the week after registration begins and you will not be able to register on that platform at this time.

Zoom links are sent to registered participants the business day before the program. Please remember that most of our programs, unless listed in the newsletter as a drop-in program, require advance registration. We have recently been shifting the responsibility of sending out zoom links from one staff person to another. To help with finding our materials in your email, we will routinely use "Wellesley COA Zoom Link - (name of class)" as our subject line. If you regularly search for our links, please search for that line and you should find our materials. If you have looked and it is less than an hour before the class, please give us a call at 781-235-3961.

We have a myriad of services available at the COA. These services are currently offered by phone/zoom or live in some instances. Call today to schedule your appointment.

AARP Tax Program

Tax appointments are now available. These in person appointments will be offered starting February 14th and are booked on Mondays through April 11th only, with the exception of federal holidays. Please call us at 781-235-3961 to schedule an appointment.

IT Help - In-Person Appointments

Lois will be in-house at the TPC for your one-on-one appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each appointment will be 45 minutes long at: 12:30 PM, 1:15 PM, 2:00 PM, and 2:45 PM on Tuesdays and 9:15 AM, 10:00 AM, 10:45 AM, 11:30 AM on Thursdays. Metro West Legal Services – Free Legal Consult Call

Attorney Gregory Deaugustine will be available for 30-minute legal consultation calls on senior resident questions the first Thursday of every month, from 10 AM - 12 PM. MetroWest Legal Services provides free legal aid to seniors on: housing, public benefits and social security matters; durable power of attorney, health care proxy, and simple probate matters; Medicaid, nursing home issues, and limited domestic relations; as well as consumer and bankruptcy. SHINE Appointments - In Person

SHINE counselors are available to assist patrons with Medicare enrollment and counseling. Did you know that in 2021 more people qualify for help to pay for Medicare B and more through the Medicare Savings Program? If your individual income is under $1,755/ month and assets are under $15,940, you may qualify. You can talk to a SHINE counselor for more information on programs that can save you money on health care costs. Call us today at (781) 235-3961 to schedule an appointment.

Lending Library at the COA

Did you know that the COA has a lending library next to the café? You can borrow books, puzzles, audiobook CDs, and movie or TV DVDs. Special thanks to everyone who donated items to the library.
