At the October 29, 2024 meeting, the School Committee reviewed and discussed the following presentations:

Academic Calendar Task Force (ACTF) Presentation. The ACTF’s process and recommendation were reviewed. Discussion will continue at the 11/12 and 11/19 School Committee meetings (6:30pm via Zoom). A vote is planned for 11/19 meeting.This discussion follows the work of the ACTF which began in April 2024. The ACTF recommendation consisting of 4 Static Holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Lunar New Year, Eid al-Fitr) with removal of Diwali and Good Friday, was just voted on by the ACTF on October 24. Additonal details can be found on the ACTF website.

WMS and WHS Presentation of the Programs of Study for SY2025-26.

The School Committee will vote on the proposed changes at the 11/12 meeting.

WPS Annual Oct. 1 Enrollment report. This report and presentation provide both full accounting of the district’s present enrollment for SY2024-25, along with projections for SY2025-26, which will be used in the budgeting process.

FY’25 Adjusted Budget. This presentation was discussed at the 10/9 meeting and approved on 10/29. This will be the foundation for the district’s FY’26 budget recommendations.

FY’26 Budget Guidelines. The budget guidelines were discussed at the 10/9 meeting and approved on 10/29. These guidelines provide direction to the WPS administration as it prepares the FY’26 budget recommendations.

Proposed District Goals for SY2024-25 and Superintendent Goals: Continued discussion and a vote is scheduled for the 11/12 meeting.

WPS School Department’s section to the Town’s Annual Report for SY2023-24. This document was reviewed and approved.
