Special Town Meeting December 9th

The Board of Selectmen have called for a Special Town Meeting on December 9th and 10th. The Warrant includes three articles:

To receive reports
Hunnewell Elementary School design funds
Council on Aging governance review

Town Meeting Members are invited to a Special Town Meeting Prep Session sponsored by the League of Women Voters on Sunday December 8th at 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the Great Hall, Town Hall, 525 Washington Street.

Electronic Voting Coming to Special Town Meeting

In response to the Annual Town Meeting 2019 vote, Electronic Voting devices will be piloted at the Special Town Meeting in December and Annual Town Meeting 2020 in the spring.

Electronic Voting will provide complete transparency for every vote and should eliminate the need for time-consuming standing votes in most, if not all, situations.

The results of the electronic votes will be available on the Town website within 10 days of the meeting.

Town Local Election Scheduled for March 17, 2020 - NEW DATE

Due to the Presidential Primary Election, the Town Local Election will be held on Tuesday March 17, 2020. Nomination papers will be available as of Thursday December 5, 2019 for anyone interested in running for Wellesley elected offices.

Election information on how to run for office and election calendar are available on the Wellesley Town Website. In addition, the League of Women Voters will be sponsoring a forum on How to Run for Office, with guest speakers Mark Kaplan, Town Moderator and KC Kato, Town Clerk at the Warren Building on December 4th, 2019 at 7:30 PM.
