The Town of Wayland received its Purple Heart Town designation in May 2015, through an effort led by community members.
Richard Turner, a resident who is Chair of the Public Ceremonies Committee and a recipient of the Purple Heart, said that it was an honor and a privilege to be able to see this project come to fruition. Turner and Town officials are grateful to everyone involved in this effort.
