About the District

Our role is to honor and care for the men and women who cared for our country by serving in the U.S. military.

Our team fulfills this mission by working with veterans and their families living in Needham, Wayland, Wellesley, Weston and Westwood. These veterans comprise the West Suburban Veterans District--more than 2,000 in total, from WWII to the Global War on Terror.

While our office assists with a wide range of matters, we’re most often asked to help with:

  • Filing disability claims for mental and physical injuries incurred during service
  • Obtaining VA Healthcare and in-home aid for those aging in place
  • Applying for state and federal financial assistance for those who qualify
  • Locating discharge documents and other military service records
  • Planning around death and burial benefits
  • Leveraging educational benefits as well as job-placement resources

In addition to these activities, we work with our towns’ Council on Aging departments and other community partners to offer programming that honors our veterans and provides a place for community and socialization.

We work at no cost to the veteran or family member and in accordance with state laws and regulations to administer benefits from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services and the U.S. Veterans Administration.

While our team rotates where we work from throughout the week, we’re always available by phone at 781-489-7509.
