Permits & Licenses

Permits and licenses are required for almost all businesses in Wellesley, even those operating for just one day. Requirements vary based on the type of business. While the town makes every effort to minimize processing times, some permits and licenses may require additional approval by the Fire Department, Police Department, Health Department, Department of Public Works, Building Inspector and other officials.

Licenses

The following licenses are issued by the Select Board. Retailers and businesses may apply for a license at any time. Licenses expire at the end of each calendar year.  Renewals are available beginning in October.  Certain licenses are subject to specific rules and regulations.
