The annual tax free weekend in Massachusetts is Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11.
During these two days, most retail items up to $2,500 that are purchased for personal use will be exempt from state sales tax. This also applies to eligible items purchased online during these two days.
Certain items such as meals, motor vehicles, gas, electricity, tobacco and marijuana products, and alcoholic beverages are still taxable and do not qualify for this exemption. Visit the State Department of Revenue website for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the sales tax holiday.
Wellesley businesses are participating - shop locally and support our merchants!
Local retailers contribute so much to the character of our neighborhoods, and reinvest in our community through their support of Wellesley nonprofits, schools, and events.
We hope you'll visit your favorite stores this weekend!
