MassDOT will be closing portions of I-90/I-95 this week as part of the continuing work on the Newton/Weston bridge rehabilitation project at the I-90/I-95 interchange.
On Wednesday, June 18 the exit ramp from I-95 northbound to Route 30 at Exit 39A will be closed overnight between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. on June 19. Drivers will be detoured to Exit 41 and must backtrack to Exit 39.
Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 20 through Monday, June 23 at 5 a.m. I-90 (Mass Pike) will be reduced to one lane in each direction while crews continue replacing the highway bridge over the MBTA tracks.
The lane closures will cause significant backups for drivers. If possible, plan ahead and seek alternate routes.
Also from June 20 through June 23, MBTA commuter rail service on the Framingham/Worcester line will be replaced by free shuttle buses at the Wellesley Square and Wellesley Hills stops. Regular commuter rail service will resume in the early morning on Monday, June 23. There is no commuter service for Wellesley Farms this weekend.
Signage, law enforcement details, and message boards are in place throughout the work area.
