The Massachusetts Attorney General's office has approved most of the bylaw amendments voted at 2025 Annual Town Meeting (ATM). The amended bylaws are effective as of July 25, 2025.
Decisions were announced on the following Town Bylaws and Zoning Bylaws:
General Town Bylaw Amendments (ATM 2025)
- Article 9.1. Amend Article 55 Revolving Funds Bylaw to add New Recreation Commission Fund – Recreation Commission and Select Board
- Article 34.1. Amend General Bylaw Article 20 to establish Affordable Housing Trust – Wellesley Housing Development Corporation, Select Board and Planning Board
- Article 35.1. Establish Customer Opt-In for Single- Service Ware and Single Servicing Packaged Condiments – Climate Action Committee
- Article 36.1. Amend Article 49.12, Restrictions of Use of the Town’s Water Supply – Board of Public Works
- Article 37.1. Establish Town Bylaw for Cultural Council – Select Board
Zoning Bylaw Amendments (ATM 2025)
- Article 34.2 Amend Zoning Bylaw Sections 3.6.B, 5.7.D.2, and 5.7.F.4 Housing Development Corporation – Select Board
- Article 38.1 Amend Zoning Bylaw Section 1.4 Restrictions Affecting All Districts – Planning Board
- Article 39.1 Amend Zoning Bylaw Section 3.7 Flood Plain – Planning Board
The decision for Article 40, Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) is pending.
Concerns about the invalidity of any of these amendments may be submitted to the AG's office within ninety (90) days of this posting date, by October 23, 2025.
