Morses Pond Beach and Bathhouse Project
Results from a supplemental report on the Morses Pond Beach and Bathhouse feasibility study will be presented to the Morses Pond Beach Advisory Committee on Monday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m. This is a virtual meeting and will be live streamed on the Wellesley Media Government channel. Mass Bay Development Project Presentation to Select Board & Planning Board
On Tuesday, September 16, at 6:30 p.m. the Select Board and Planning Board will hear a presentation from the Division of Capital Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) on a proposal to redevelop a portion of land at Mass Bay Community College. This land is owned by the State and the proposal is coming forward under the Affordable Homes Act, which allows the Commonwealth the right to use state-owned land for the construction of housing at a minimum density of 4 units per acre. This is an initial presentation and more information and public meetings with the community are planned by Mass Bay in the coming weeks. The presentation will be at the start of the Select Board meeting, which takes place in-person in the Great Hall at Town Hall. One-Day Per Week Outdoor Watering Restrictions
A reminder from the DPW that MANDATORY one-day per week outdoor watering restrictions are in effect due to the current Level 1 mild drought. Non-essential outdoor water use is permitted only before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. according to your home address. Odd numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays, and even numbered addresses may water on Fridays. Read the DPW Watering Restrictions webpage for more information.
Emergency Preparedness Month
September is Emergency Preparedness Month and the Fire Department is reminding the community to be prepared in case of emergencies and disasters. Some tips include: making a plan for all family members, putting together an emergency kit, preparing for medical needs, preparing your home for power outages, flooding or weather-related issues, and unexpected hazards, and preparing for pets or service animals. This annual event supports our local businesses and shoppers can enjoy discounts and special events from merchants. Free parking is available at all bagged 2-hour street meters.
