Veterans with service-connected disabilities must apply for the FY2026 property tax exemption by April 1, 2026, if you haven’t already applied this fiscal year. Please note you must reapply each year, even if you’ve received this benefit before.
The HERO Act provides:
- $800 exemption for veterans with at least 10% disability
- $2,000 exemption for veterans who are 100% disabled
To apply, visit the Assessor’s Office and bring a copy of your VA award letter showing your rating percentage.
