[ARCHIVED] WPD Investigates Home Break In on Bobolink

The Wellesley Police Department is investigating a recent home break in on Bobolink Road on December 31 during the late afternoon.

Police were called to the residence shortly after five PM on New Year’s Eve.  Entry was forced into the home, and items were removed.  No one was home at the time of the break in, but there was a very short time frame of when the incident happened.

Additionally, in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day, a business in Wellesley Hills was also broken into.  The suspect forced entry into the front of the store and removed merchandise.

Both incidents are being actively investigated by Wellesley Police Officers and Detectives.

In a previous home break in on River Ridge Road, a suspect was identified by the Wellesley Police Department.  That suspect, a juvenile, was arrested and charged following the issuance of a warrant.   That incident also remains under investigation.

In both the River Ridge and Bobolink Road home burglaries, area neighbors were very helpful in providing home security camera video that was beneficial to the investigation.

The Wellesley Police Department continues to investigate car thefts from driveways during the overnight hours.  Wellesley has experienced an uptick in auto theft in the last few months, as have the surrounding communities.  In most, if not all of these cases, the cars are unlocked with the keys or remote in the vehicle at the time of the theft.
