Wellesley Square's iconic clock is back in its usual place on Central Street.
A replica of a historic station clock, the familiar landmark was re-installed on January 12. It was removed in September 2020.
The clock and its base got a full 'facelift' during the five-month hiatus. It was stripped down, sandblasted, painted and repaired, and the inner workings were updated.
The renovation work was performed by Electric Time Company in Medfield, Wellesley's go-to business for clock repairs. The clock was re-installed with help from Wellesley DPW and MLP crews.
Thank you to DPW Highway Division foreman Kevin Collins who took this fast motion video of the action.
With its brand new look, the clock resumes its job of keeping our community on time!
