Residents and friends are invited to join local WPD officers and Chief Jack Pilecki for Yoga Strong on September 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at Hunnewell Field adjacent to the Wellesley tennis courts on Route 16.

Families can reserve a spot for $50; individual participants are $25. Register in advance on The Julie Fund website.

The Julie Fund is the official charity of the Wellesley Police Department. Every October, WPD sells pink police patches for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and donates all proceeds to the Fund, which is named for Wellesley resident Julie McAvinn who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2004.

In anticipation of the event, WPD community service dog Winnie is practicing her "downward dog!"
