Wellesley municipal buildings and offices are closed on Monday, October 11 in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day. 

The Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF) will also be closed, as will Wellesley Public Schools and the Wellesley Free Library branches. 

Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 12. 

A reminder that there will also be significant road closures in effect on Monday, October 11 due to the 125th Boston Marathon. 

  • Central Street (Rt. 135) will be closed from the Natick line to Grove Street.  
  • Washington Street (Rt. 16) will be closed from Grove Street to the Newton line.   

Roads will close at 7:30 a.m. on October 11 and remain closed until the end of the race. Roads are expected to reopen about 3:00 p.m. Please note: This is an approximate time for reopening.  

NO traffic is allowed across the race route once the road is closed.  Vehicles parked in parking lots along the route will not be allowed to leave until the road has reopened.
