Town buildings and departments will be closed on Monday, April 18 for Patriot's Day and the 126th Boston Marathon.
The Recycling and Disposal Center (RDF) will also be closed. Please note: The RDF will be open on Sunday, April 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Regular hours for all buildings and departments will resume on Tuesday, April 19.
Road Closures
Due to the Boston Marathon, the Wellesley Police Department is reminding residents of significant road closures on Monday. Washington Street and Central Street will close at 8:30 a.m. and remain closed until approximately 3:30 p.m.
Drivers will NOT be able to cross the Marathon route once the roads have closed. Please plan travel in advance; the only way to cross the Marathon route is via Route 9 (Worcester
Street) under Washington Street.
There will also be temporary NO PARKING areas posted close to the Marathon route. Please pay attention to signs as violators will be ticketed and cars towed. Visit the Wellesley Police Department website for complete details.
Public Transportation Schedules
MBTA trains will follow a holiday schedule for Patriot's Day. However, due to road closures, the MWRTA Catch Connect ride share service will NOT be operating on Patriot's Day. Regular public transportation schedules will resume on Tuesday.
