[ARCHIVED] Road Closures for Wellesley Parade on May 22, 2022

As part of Wellesley’s Wonderful Weekend there will be some significant road closures throughout the day on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

11:00 AM to 4:00 PM   Central Street (Route 135) in Wellesley Square will be closed from Abbott Street to Weston Road.  This is due to a large antique car show that will be held during the day.  A detour will be set up for this event.

The annual Wellesley Parade will start at 1PM on Washington Street in Wellesley Hills.  The parade will travel west on Washington Street to Wellesley Square (Central Street at Grove).

Due the parade, the following streets will be closed to traffic:

11:45 AM to 3:00 PM   Washington Street between Oakland Street and Route 9

12:30 PM to 4:00 PM  Washington Street closed from Oakland Street to Central Street.  This includes the ramps from Route 9 east and west to Route 16 in Wellesley Hills.  Additionally, Central Street will be closed from Washington Street (Grove) to Weston Road during this time (extension of previous road closure).

All roads SHOULD be open at approximately 4:00 PM.  This is an estimate.

There will be posted temporary no parking signs on the parade route.   Vehicles parked on the route in violation will be towed.
