Live or work in Wellesley? Learn about the benefits of driving an electric vehicle (EV) at a free evening event on Thursday, May 11.
Test drive a dealer EV and speak with local EV owners who can help answer questions about EV and plug-in hybrid cars.
The event takes place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the parking lot at MassBay Community College (50 Oakland Street) in Wellesley. The rain date is Wednesday, May 17.
Register in advance to test drive one of more than 20 dealer EVs taking part in the event. A valid driver's license is required.
The event is sponsored by the Wellesley Climate Action Committee, Municipal Light Plant, Sustainable Wellesley, and Wellesley Drives Electric.
Vehicle exhaust accounts for nearly 40% of Wellesley’s greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The Town of Wellesley, the Commonwealth, and our country have set ambitious GHG emissions reduction goals.
Driving an EV is one way you can take personal action to reduce the emissions that lead to climate change, because EVs do not produce tailpipe emissions.
