The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is making changes to subway, commuter rail, and bus schedules this summer.
These changes begin on Sunday, July 2 and will continue throughout the summer months. The MBTA is holding a virtual public meeting on Monday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. to answer questions, hear concerns, and get input on future service.

Details about the planned service changes are below.
Subway "T" schedule changes:
- Green Line "T" - Service frequency decreases and departure times change on all branches throughout the day on weekdays
- Orange Line "T" - Service frequency increases and departure times change throughout the day on weekdays
- Blue Line "T" - Service frequency increases from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. Departure times change throughout the day every day.

Commuter Rail schedule changes. New schedules for the commuter rail went into effect in early May 2023. See commuter rail schedules.
Bus schedules will change effective July 2. See bus service schedules.
Sumner Tunnel Closure. The Sumner Tunnel will be closed seven days a week this summer beginning July 5 through August 31 for the MassDOT Sumner Tunnel Restoration project.
To help lessen the impact of this project, the MBTA is offering reduced fares and parking rates for anyone affected by this closure.
