[ARCHIVED] DPW Announces Night Work on Washington Street

The following notice is from the Wellesley Department of Public Works (Engineering Division) regarding night construction work on Washington Street from Glen Road to Route 9:  


Work on the Reconstruction of Washington Street from Route 9 to Glen Road continues.  The work being accomplished includes the following:  replacement of sidewalk panels and ramps, removal and replacement of damaged crosswalks, milling and overlaying pavement, signage, pavement markings and other incidental work. The work is being accomplished by P.J. Keating Company and their subcontractors, under the direction of the Town of Wellesley Department of Public Works.  


****The project work includes the removal and replacement of the crosswalks within the project limits along Washington Street.  The crosswalk work needs to be accomplished during night time hours which are 9:00PM to 5:00AM.  Work is scheduled to start on Monday night, September 10th and is expected to take six nights to complete.  


The work schedule may vary and is subject to weather conditions.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation in getting this work accomplished.****


A minimum of two lanes of traffic on Washington Street will be maintained for the majority of the work in order to minimize impacts on traffic.  Police details will be on-site during the work to minimize impacts to traffic, parking and other roadway functions.
