A second impactful storm is predicted for our area from Tuesday night, January 9 into Wednesday, January 10 and is expected to bring significant amounts of rain and possible high winds.
Wellesley Department of Public Works (DPW) and Municipal Light Plant (MLP) crews are prepared to respond to any issues.
With this storm following closely on the heels of last weekend's snow storm, rapidly melting snow may overwhelm catch basins and cause temporary flooding. Please use caution when driving.
A few reminders:
- If possible, stay home and off the roads during the storm.
- Stay away from any downed lines, poles, or trees that may have wires caught in them, or may have damaged electrical equipment. Assume all downed wires are live and dangerous.
- Report non-emergency downed trees and wires and any power outages to the DPW/MLP 24-hour hotline by calling 781-235-7600.
- For emergencies, please call 9-1-1.
Wellesley Police and Fire Departments will be working closely with DPW and MLP. Storm updates will be posted on the Town X (Twitter) accounts @WellesleyPolice and @TownOfWellesley.
