The Wellesley Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, and Wellesley Housing Development Corporation have worked collaboratively to produce a five-year Housing Production Plan (HPP) to guide Town officials in future efforts and ensure our community meets regulations as determined by the State.
The HPP is a proactive approach to planning and developing affordable housing in Wellesley; it provides strategies that enable our Town to meet affordable housing needs in a manner consistent with MGL Chapter 40B, and to develop housing units according to HPP regulations. The Town's goal is to add 45 units of subsidized housing annually.
To help produce this plan, the Town gathered input and feedback from residents and stakeholders during three public forums that took place from April to June 2018. The resulting HPP was unanimously approved by the Wellesley Board of Selectmen and Wellesley Planning Board on September 24, 2018, and was approved by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) on October 22, 2018.
