The Town is working with Gamble Associates to assist the Design Review Board, along with the general public, in developing updated comprehensive Design Guidelines that would apply to all projects in Wellesley, aside from one/two-family homes.
These guidelines would provide direction for commercial development in our community in a way that respects existing town and architectural character, while also identifying preferred and encouraged design decisions for buildings and sites. Public input is important as we work to define the Wellesley's vision for building quality, massing, height and character, and determine how buildings and sites fit into our community open space and public areas.
Gamble Associates will giving a presentation providing an overview of how the guideline document is structured and its key concepts at a special Design Review Board meeting on Wednesday, November 7 at 7 PM in the Great Hall. The public is invited to attend to share their thoughts!
