A public Open House to celebrate the newly renovated, privately funded, Wellesley Fells Branch Library at 308 Weston Road is planned for Saturday, November 17 from 10 AM to 2 PM. All Wellesley residents are invited to stop by to see the new space, learn about programs offered at the Fells Branch and meet Peppa Pig! The Open House is generously funded by the Friends of the Wellesley Free Libraries.
Originally a one-room schoolhouse, the Fells Branch was converted to a library in 1923 and is the oldest municipal building in Wellesley. It currently operates 100% on privately raised funds.
With the renovations, the Fells Branch returns to its roots as a learning space. The high impact literacy and learning environment will offer hands-on, interactive activities geared toward 0-6 year-olds and will support and encourage caregiver and preschooler interactions.
Regular open hours for the Fells Branch Library will be Tuesday - Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM.
