RIO Task Force Seeks Participants
The Planning Board is recruiting citizen participants to serve on a Task Force to review the Residential Incentive Overlay (“RIO”) zoning bylaw. This group will make recommendations to the Planning Board for both strategic and practical adjustments to the RIO zoning bylaw. WPS Registration for 2025-2026 School Year
Wellesley Public Schools registration for the 2025-26 school year is open, and families are urged to enroll their students as soon as possible. Visit the WPS website for Grade 1-12 registration information. Families with children who will be 5 years old on or before August 31, should register for Kindergarten. 2025 Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend

- Monday, May 12, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Great Hall, Wellesley Town Hall. "Untold Stories from the Cold War to Today's Battlefields." Listen as Wellesley Veterans share lessons from Vietnam, Bosnia, Kosovo, the Gulf, Afghanistan wars and more. Speakers include U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and Navy Veterans Michael Madon, Brian Shortsleeve, and Robert Bradley.
- Saturday, May 17, All Day. Encampment displays, family activities, municipal open houses, and more for the 27th Annual Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend. Includes the DPW "Touch a Truck" (9 a.m. to Noon at 20 Municipal Way), Wellesley Fire Headquarters Open House (10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 457 Worcester Street), Wellesley Police Department Open House (11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at 485 Washington Street), Wellesley Town Hall Ribbon Cutting and Open House (2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at 525 Washington Street). Plus the pancake festival, trails walks, family boot camp and obstacle course, Yarn Bomb, Pups in the Park, Veterans Ecumenical Mass at Saint Paul Church, and more!
- Sunday, May 18, All Day. Wonder Run 5K & Kids Fun Run (8 a.m. at Wellesley High School), "Wheels of Wellesley XII" Antique Car Show (9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Central Street), 57th Annual Veterans Parade (1 p.m. -3 p.m. along Washington Street), Picnic, Concert, and Fireworks at Hunnewell Field (4:30 p.m. to Dusk).
Mental Health Month
In support of Mental Health Month in May, the Health Department is holding a variety of activities highlighting mental health. Visit the Health Department website to learn more.
