Paving work on Weston Road will take place from Sunday, September 28 through Friday, October 3.
This phase will require both night and day work and will require another road closure and detour.
Information on the planned schedule and answers to frequently asked questions can be found on the DPW webpages and letters have been sent to all homeowners in this area.
The schedule for this phase of the work includes:
- Milling beginning on Sunday evening, September 28 at 8:00 p.m. The work will remove between 3 and 6 inches of pavement from the existing road, starting near the Route 9 ramps and proceeding north. Work is expected to stop each morning around 5:00 a.m. Pavement transitions will be established at both ends so that local access, buses, deliveries and emergency vehicles will always have access.
- Milling will restart each night through Wednesday, October 1 with a potential additional night, if needed.
- Starting Tuesday, September 30, paving will begin on the milled areas following the south to north progression. A majority of the milling and the installation of the base pavement course is expected to be completed by October 3.
We recognize that this work will be impactful. A list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) is on the DPW Weston Road Reconstruction Updates webpage.
DPW staff and Wellesley Police Department details will be on-site during any construction periods to assist as needed.
