Going away this summer and boarding your dog? The Town Clerk is reminding owners that printable copies of dog licenses are easy to access online.
Many kennels or boarding places require a copy of your dog's license. This document can be downloaded and printed using the Town online dog licensing platform.
Log in to your account, and click on your dog's record under "permits and licensing" to access this information. For questions, contact the Town Clerk's office at doglicensing@wellesleyma.gov
Protect your dog! Massachusetts state law requires all individuals or businesses offering boarding services to have a kennel license. Be sure to ask boarders for proof of their kennel license.
And from the Animal Control Officer: Help keep Wellesley parks and open spaces safe and dog friendly.
With more people outside during the summer months, the Town is seeing an increase in reports about off-leash and aggressive dogs in public areas.
Please remember that unless otherwise posted, dogs must leashed or under immediate voice control on all NRC areas including trails, parks, and conservation properties. This helps protect all other users, plants, and wildlife.
Under immediate voice control means that the dog responds to one command of COME and remains sitting beside the owner or keeper. Dogs may not run up to, jump on, or assault individuals or other dogs who are in the area.
Visit the Animal Control webpages to learn more about dog regulations and how to handle unwanted dog interactions.
