Become more involved in town government - consider serving as a Wellesley Town Meeting Member.
Residents who are interested in running for a Town Meeting Member position must obtain nomination papers from the Town Clerk's office by 5 PM on Friday, January 25.
New Town Meeting Member candidates must collect at least 10 signatures from registered voters living in the candidate's precinct. The deadline to return the papers with these signatures is 5 PM on Tuesday, January 29 to ensure the candidate's name is included on the official printed ballot.
No nomination papers are required for incumbent Town Meeting Members, but incumbents who are running for re-election must send a written notification to the Town Clerk no later than 42 days before the annual Town Election on March 5, 2019.
Wellesley has a representative Town Meeting form of government with 240 members elected from eight precincts to staggered three-year terms. Town Meeting Members must be Wellesley residents.
