Congratulations to Wellesley Middle School French teacher Rebecca Blouwolff on her recent honor as Foreign Language Teacher of the Year!
Madame Blouwolff was recognized for her 'fantastique' teaching and her compassion as an educator by the Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (NECTFL). Blouwolff represented the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association and was chosen to receive the region's highest honor from a pool of candidates selected by states in the Northeast.
In describing Blouwoulff, one of her students said that "what made her class so unique was that she not only taught us to love and care about French, but to love and care about people."
The award highlights Blouwolff's strengths as a world language professional who models continuous learning by achieving National Board Certification and broadening her skills through innovative workshops and creative teaching styles.
Blouwolff will now represent the NECTFL at a National Language Teacher of the Year competition.
