[ARCHIVED] WPD to Test New Emergency Alert System

The Wellesley Police Department will be conducting a test of our community alert/emergency notification system on Wednesday, June 19 at 1030 AM.  The test will consist of a phone call, text and email message.  The phone call will go to your residential or business phone in Wellesley.  The text and email message will go to those who have subscribed to our free service previously.

The Wellesley Police Department recently consolidated our community notification system from two different providers to one provider from Rave Alert.  This will allow the department to communicate more efficiently across several different platforms in the event of an emergency.

You can learn more about the types of alerts that are available by clicking on our information page here:  https://wellesleyma.gov/1345/Emergency-Alert.  You can subscribe if you haven’t already done so by clicking here:  https://getrave.com/login/wellesleyma

If you have any questions, experience any problems, or do not receive the test on your home phone, contact Detective Peter McLaughlin at PMcLaughlin@wellesleyma.gov.
