Work to replace the Bacon Street bridge on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line begins on Monday, October 28.
The bridge is between Route 135/Central Street and Morses Pond in Wellesley.
Contractors for the State, Barletta Heavy Division, will be clearing shrubs and trees, taking soil boring samples and prepping the construction site. All work will take place within the railroad right-of-way.
Residents can expect some noise from the work, which will be limited to daytime hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The MBTA urges drivers in the area to obey posted speed limits and use caution.
Construction is expected to take several weeks to complete. The schedule for this major project is weather dependent and subject to change.
