Don't shave, do raise money for kids with cancer!
This month, many Wellesley Police Department officers and dispatchers are growing beards to support "No Shave November."
Donations raised through this program will go to the Cops for Kids with Cancer charity that helps improve the lives of children battling cancer.
Wellesley is joining other police departments throughout the State who are taking part in this effort. So far, our department has raised nearly $3000.
Some of the officers also recently shaved their heads to support fellow first responder, Wellesley Fire Department fire fighter Joanie Cullinan in her buzz off for cancer awareness.
Thank you to the WPD for its dedication to these causes and to our community. Beards will be buzzed in December.
