At a public forum in Wellesley on Monday, January 6, 2020, Massachusetts Bay Transportation (MBTA) officials answered questions and outlined future plans for public transportation in the area.

The MBTA was represented by Ryan Coholan, Chief Railroad Officer, and Anthony DeDominicis, Senior Director for Commuter Rail Programs, who spoke about the challenges and plans for the T.

Both officials answered questions from residents and Town officials on topics that included:

  •  Capacity and reliability issues
  •  Improved accessibility at Wellesley's three commuter rail stations
  •  Upgrades to fare collection systems

The entire meeting is available to watch on demand from Wellesley Media Corporation.

Residents are also encouraged to contact state legislators to give input on issues involving the MBTA.

Additional discussions between the Town, residents and the MBTA will be scheduled in the future as the T continues to develop its public transportation plans.
