The Recreation Department is extending the Morses Pond season this summer.
Beach hours and the reservation process for socially distanced blanketing areas will remain the same through Sunday, August 23.
The beach was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, August 16. Town officials hope the additional week will continue to provide safe summer activities to help with the anticipated delay in back-to-school.
The Recreation Department would like to keep the pond and beach open through Labor Day or later but will need to hire additional staff. Teens and college students who may be home and looking for work are encouraged to contact Wellesley Recreation.
If no additional staff members are available, beach hours will be reduced after August 23, with limited access allowed during set times.
