A familiar face at Town Hall and a well-known name on every Town check, Waldman is Wellesley's "tax man." He retired on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 after nearly 33 years of assisting residents.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, retirement celebrations at Town Hall were held virtually with friends, family members, and Town employees zooming in to wish him well, along with a few in-person appearances.

In his farewell remarks, Waldman recognized the efforts of so many colleagues during his time in Wellesley.

"All of us have made Wellesley work despite of our structure of government. It’s been the brilliance of everybody in terms of the work they do in their departments and their willingness to cooperate. If I’ve had anything to do with that over the years, I take great pride in that," he said.

Waldman was hired by long-time Wellesley executive director, the late Arnold Wakelin.

The Town's new Treasurer is Rachel Lopes, the former Assistant Finance Director and a 10-year Town employee.

Thank you Marc!
