The Wellesley Cultural Council (WCC) is the local presence of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and is a grassroots cultural funding network supporting community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences. The WCC awards annual grants to programs that enrich the culture and quality of life in Wellesley.
Funding decisions are based on local eligibility requirements determined by the WCC through a community input process. Average grants tend to be modest amounts and are often reimbursement-based, meaning applicants spend personal money on programs and if approved for a grant, applicants are reimbursed for those expenses.
Specific information on Wellesley Cultural Council program guidelines, priorities, funding applications and previously funded programs is available online through the Massachusetts Cultural Council's Local Cultural Council (LCC) program toolkit.
The Wellesley Cultural Council has twelve members who are appointed by the Board of Selectmen.
