Property Inspection Program

The Board of Assessors periodically performs on-site real estate inspections on properties in Wellesley neighborhoods. This propertyHome-inspection inspection program helps the Town and the Assessors maintain accurate information used to assess property annually at fair market value.

During inspections, expect to see technicians reviewing, measuring and photographing the exteriors of homes. Inspections require the cooperation of residents so the Assessors can verify the property characteristics.

Appraisers will have credentials identifying them as employees of the Town of Wellesley. The Wellesley Police Department is also aware that these inspections will be taking place.

Property owners will be notified when an exterior inspection has been performed and if additional information is needed. Typically, on-site exterior and interior reviews of your property are conducted at least every 10 years.

If you have questions or concerns about these inspections, email the Assessor's Office or call 781-431-1019 ext. 2272 or ext. 2275.
