The Engineering Division provides the Town of Wellesley with professional engineering, landscape architecture and technical services required to plan, coordinate, develop, design, construct, operate, and maintain Town facilities and infrastructure.Image (5)

Tasks & Responsibilities

Tasks involve deed information, computer-aided design and drafting, Geographic Information System (GIS) implementation, surveying, inspection of construction projects, and landscape design and planning. Engineering Division responsibilities include the following five programs:

  • Planning and Design
  • Survey and Inspection
  • Town Plans and Records
  • Street Occupancy Permits
  • Stormwater Management


2026 Street Occupancy/Trench Permits 

Permits for excavation work within Town public ways (streets and sidewalks) for calendar year 2026 will be issued beginning on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, weather permitting. No permits will be issued after Sunday, November 1st, 2026.
