Select Board

- The Select Board is holding Office Hours on Thursday, May 22 from Noon-1:30 p.m. in-person at Town Hall. Speak with Board chair Colette Aufranc. Please email caufranc@wellesleyma.gov for a 15-minute appointment. Zoom appointments are also available during the office hours time, or you may contact Colette directly to schedule a Zoom appointment at another, mutually convenient time.
- Mode Shift Challenge continues! Find ways to get around Wellesley without using your car. Take at least 2 trips on the MWRTA Route 1 Bus, MWRTA Catch Connect, MBTA commuter rail, or our local trails and be entered into a drawing to win prizes; or try all 4 modes of travel and be entered to win a $200 cash grand prize. Note: You must be at least 12 years old to participate without an adult.
Municipal Light Plant (WMLP)
The WMLP is nearing completion of its electric metering system upgrade project. This upgrade includes installation of a new AMI (Advanced Meter Infrastructure) electric meter at your home or business. Through a web and mobile phone application, customers will be able to monitor and manage their electric usage and receive outage alerts. If you have been contacted to upgrade your meter, please contact the WMLP to schedule your appointment.
Natural Resources Commission (NRC)
- Warren Park Renovation: The NRC is reviewing designs for the new Warren Park Playground. Community input is welcome. Review the proposed plans and watch the vendor presentations on the NRC Warren Park Playground Renovation webpages. Feedback may be emailed to the NRC at nrcmembers@wellesleyma.gov
- Wetlands Protection Committee: The NRC is seeking candidates to serve as associate members of the Wetlands Protection Committee (WPC). WPC members review and permit any proposed work in wetland resource areas, as required by the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and the Wellesley Wetlands Protection Bylaw. Residents with a passion for the environment and experience or interest in environmental science, ecology, or conservation are encouraged to apply. Planning Department
The Planning Board is seeking volunteers to fill an Associate Member vacancy. The associate member serves as a voting member of the Planning Board on special permit applications IF one of the Board’s five regular members is unable to participate. This individual can also as the Planning Board liaison to other Boards and Commissions in Town. Interested residents who would like to contribute to the discussion and consideration of important issues facing the Town are encouraged to apply. School Committee
- Office Hours: The School Committee is holding virtual office hours on Wednesday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sign up in advance for a 15-minute appointment. The final office hours date for the 2024-2025 school year is June 11 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Wellesley Public Schools: The last day of school this year for students in grades K-11 is Friday, June 20. Graduation for Grade 12 students at Wellesley High School is Friday, June 6.
REMINDER: Memorial Holiday & Summer Hours
Wellesley municipal buildings and departments will be CLOSED on Monday, May 26 for the Memorial Day holiday. The Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF) is also closed. Regular business hours resume on Tuesday, May 27. Please check specific department hours as open and closed times may vary.
Wellesley Town Hall departments will operate on a summer schedule from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Departments will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and will close at noon on Fridays. These hours begin on Friday, May 30 and run through Friday, August 29.
